Dress Code

A Dress Code ensures that a teacher will be able to see a dancer's alignment and positioning, and allows the teacher to correct mistakes more easily. Dress Codes teach student discipline, helping with overall focus and energy. By "dressing the part", dancers feel like dancers. Dress Codes also create unity among fellow dancers and minimize distractions.

All students in Group A-E will be required to follow the Dress Code below:

  • Hair:  Hair must be pulled back, away from the face, and in a bun
  • Attire: Students must wear their specific class uniform and ballet slippers

For information regarding the appropriate uniform for each level, please see Lauren Monnett for proper placement. All uniforms are processed through Morehead Dance Academy and ordered periodically.

Dancers that violate the Dress Code will be given a verbal warning; a second offense will result in a written warning. If the student continues to violate the Dress Code, they will not be able to participate in the class until they are properly prepared.
